Who you gonna call?

Hey everyone!

The last three days I've been struck by an illness and I've pretty much been in bed all the time, thusly I have not blogged. Also I couldn't really be arsed last night or on monday :P

On monday I went to Nelson and for some reason it just reminded me of Spain. I caught up with Linn a bit and got a look at where she lives, it looks pretty cool and the fact that she is living with three others exchange students is kind of cool to. I just got home from scholl, or well like thirty forty minutes ago. Today was a pretty good day and we spent four of our six periods playing around with Photoshop :P

I finally got myself an NZ cellphone, for free! The co-ordinator had one lying around and she gave it to me. For a simple fee of $40 I got it charged up and now I can text around as much as I bloody want to, I think..

Nothing really interesting has happened this week since I've been lying around in the house..

Oh right, yeah I got myself a book from the national library, A Canticle for Leibowitz, it's kind of awesome. I'll have to read it in four weeks which will be pretty hard since im reading To kill a mockingbird to :S

Oh well, I'll see how it goes.

Cheers People

Oh no! It's Twilight!

It's 5:06 right now and beleive it or not I'm watching Twilight. I've been watching it for twenty minutes and I have already established even greater hate towards the story. I can't sit still, I have to loudly exclaim hateful comments towards the TV-screen because if I didn't I would most likely implode, create a tiny black hole and destroy everything in a fivehundred metre radius. Not only does Edward the gorgeous teenage vampire openly walk around in sunshine but he's vegetarian! This guy has been walking the earth for maybe a hundred years and now he starts protecting this teenage girl, he's a pedophile.

Oh no! She just found out he's a vampire! And now he's (while horribly animated) carrying her on his back to show just how gorgeous he is when he sparkles!

OH NO! I JUST GOT TEA ON MY COMPUTER! GAH MY HOSTSISTER POURED TEA ON MY COMPUTER! WOB WOB WOB WOB WOB!

Anyway.. to sum it up. Twilight sucks.

I have passion, I hate Twilight.

Axel out.

Now that you've had a taste of what is my ego let me say good evening to the people in New Zealand and good morning to you folks in Sweden. The last few days have been great and I can happily say that all doubts of living on a dairy farm or out in the bush have been dispelled, I have come to really appreciate my surroundings and the people in it. Right now I'm watching a new episode of Family Guy and Seth Mc Farlane still has it in him! Guess what I have done today readers! YOU HAVE A SICK MIND, OF COURSE I DIDN'T KILL CHILDREN AND SELL THEIR ORGANS!

You're author has gone swimming! In the middle of winter. It took me and Jake roughly twentyfive minutes to get out of the boat and into the river. Twentyfive minutes of bickering and bets, sadly I was not the first one in and currently I am indebted to Jake. I must provide him with one can of Coca-cola or face eternal servitude. I am sad to inform you all that my videoblogg is delayed as I had to go fish and swim when I had planned to film it, It will show up here in a couple of days however.

Tommorow is school! Hooray! Let's all be happy and jump around! Or we lie in bed and sleep away. Although I think I'll just go to school and do everything half-assed, the American way! One more big hunk of news, AC/DC is rocking their way to New Zealand and will be here 28th of January-4th of February and I'm going to plead my father for money so I can fly to Wellington and see them play, because it would be insanely awesome. Yesterday I watched two games of Netball, which is an incredibly slow sport. It's sort of like Handball, you have a medium sized ball and the goal is to get it into the net of your opponent, there are a number of rules that I don't know but apparently while you are holding the ball you have to stop moving and pass it to a friend. I have the testimony of another brilliant exchange student that also says it's a really boring sport.

In between the matches Paul (hostfather) took me and Jake (Hostbrother) out to the coast and I enjoyed some marvelous golden beaches, blue water and realized that this place is as close to paradise as one can actually get. I can't wait to see it in summer! Regretably I forgot my camera at home yesterday so I can not provide with any pictures.

I'll dig up something later though so you to can experience the awesomeness of the families backyard.

Until then dear readers!
This is Axel the Amazingly Awesome

Touché..

Good Midday Dear Readers.

It's five past eight here and I'm sitting watching MythBusters in the Storer living room. Todays school session was pretty cool and it feels like I could handle it pretty well. Things are starting to loosen up and I'm starting to know people a bit better. Earlier yesterday I helped Jake (the familys oldest son) with some work on his 'project' which is an oldass car with car cancer. I'll include a picture of it as soon as I find my camera, by the way... I CAN'T FIND MY CAMERA! IT IS A CATASTROPHE OF BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS! MJÄÄÄÄK!

Yesterday me and Sascha (misspelled?) went to a friend of theirs and picked up some 100% pure bacon, not some lame store packaged stuff, this shizz' is pure. We cooked some today morning and I got a taste of it and let me tell you it is quite awesome. I made myself a bacontoast for lunch which was equally awesome. I don't really know how to continue.. Let's delve into the mind of Axel the Awesome, brace yourself...

TOUCHÉ! MJÄÄK! BACON! BACON! CEREALS! CAMERA! FERBIES! FURNISHING! BLABLALBA!

Phew, we made it out alive. I've demonstrated by geekiness to the family by citing Futurama while the episode in question is playing, so in short I recited the lines before they were said (Y).

Cheers for now!

Mjäääk!

Good Morning to you folks in Sweden.

I got home from my first day of NZ school maybe an hour ago and let me tell you it is confusing. First of all I'm continuing my learning like I would at home so I think I've been placed in the same year as 2nd year gymnasium students. This means that everything is new to me plus it's all in english with terms I've never heard. Cool teachers and awesome people make up for it though and within a few weeks it'll all be under control I reckon.

I must admit that I miss talking swedish a bit which leads me to the conclusion that I miss the other EF students I traveled with. I'd really like to hear what's happened to them and how they're handling their families, school and everything else. Linn said she would mail us all but no such mail has appeared. However, it's only been two days and she was at least as exhausted as me so I'll cut her some slack.

JET LAAAG! JET LAAAAG! JET LAAAAAAAAAG!

I've just finished watching 'Interview With A Vampire' on my families awesome HDTV, plus they've got a playstation so I watched it in Blu-ray. To all you blu-ray nei sayers I'll give the middle finger, it is a lot better than regular DVD and it is a worthy investment if you tend to watch a lot of movies like myself.

I think I'm going to tie up the sack, I'll throw in a couple of pictures of my school and stuff like that in a later post. Right, I promised my friend Nick some pictures of Fangorn forrest which I am currently living next to.

'The forrest of Fangorn lies on our doorstep..'

Sex Bomb!

It's 10:40 and I'm sitting semi councious in a car on my way to where I'll be staying. A friend of my host-mother is sitting in front of me humming to the radio which is playing a collection of music that seems to belong in the past. Wait, I'm going to start earlier.

I'm standing in line watching my dad take pictures of me leaving. Moments earlier I said goodbye to my brother my mother and my dad and well so far I'm feeling good. It's been two minutes though. Time for a security control, it worked out pretty smoothly and I got my stuff through and for once, I wasn't last! As I pass through the door I see the other EF travelers who I'll be travelling with. I introduce myself and the last EF student passes by the control to join us. Let's see if i remember all the names.. There was Linn, Joakim, Rasmus, Rebecca, Sofia uhm.. there was one more guy who left us in Australia whos name eludes me but maybe I'll remember it as I write. We start going towards the gate and stop by the Tax-free shop, after a few moments we realize we're still just standing talking only that we've changed the scenery so we go out of the shop since nobody wanted to buy anything. I get comments on my flashy blue bag which is apparently different from the bags that the other students got from EF, mine was a bit sturdier and far more sexy.

We settle on a couple of benches by the passport control, once you go through it you can't go back which would mean if any of us got an urge to buy anything it would be to late. The conversation comes to a stalemate and everyone sits silence, I don't really believe in uncomfortable silence but if I would be asked what it was this would be it. Rebecca takes out a book and as explained later Linn (The Magnificent as she titled herself) quickly suggested that we play cards. It worked perfectly and the ice was broken instantly. The conversation was kept going meanwhile we were playing cards and it developed to quite a good start of things. Half an hour later we're on the plane to London. Believe me when I say I've been on quite a few planes in my time but they still annoy the heck out of me.

Luckily there weren't that many booked seats far back in the plane so we switched seats and sat next to eachother. Here we continued a game of cards referred to as the others as 'Plump' which I have never played before. We didn't have time to finish it but I think I would've won, after all I am awesome.

Heathrow, London. This airport is the lair of trouble, missed flights and ticket hassle and as it turned out, our group was not an exception. We had been promised an hour or two of free time on Heathrow which would allow us to calmly locate ourselves and get to the gate for our flight, this however, is not how it turned out. After a bathroom visit and a quick debate on which terminal we were supposed to be in we made our way to the buss which would get us to terminal 4. Once there we had to pass through another security control (There can never be enough security!) and the people manning it said we'd better hurry if we hoped to make it. Time is incredibly elusive in my point of view and as we got to the main hall of the terminal we checked the boards and saw that a flight for Sydney was currently closing it's boarding. This plane was at gate 23 or 43 (Can't recall) which is as far away as you can get. We as fast as we could, Rebecca and me at the front tightly followed by Linn with the rest lagging behind.

We get to a long corridor and through the window we see one plane, we make the collective conclusion that the plane must be our plane. We run and we run and as Rebecca and I reach the gate the others have stopped at a vending machine to get coke (At a time like this?!). Disaster strikes as we try to board, it turns out that this plane was not ours! Leaving fifteen minutes later from gate 4 is a Quantas flight to Sydney via Bangkok (Just like this one). GATE FOUR! THAT'S ON THE OTHER BLOODY SIDE OF THE TERMINAL!

We readjust our clocks and we've got ten minutes before the plane was scheduled to leave. Run run run! Run like death is gnawing on your heels! Run like there's a horde of bears on your back and somebody stuffed blueberries into your pocket! Joakim's bag is dropped and stuff falls everywhere, he tells us to 'GO ON WITHOUT HIM!' (Cliché!) since he figured that if one of us gets there we can stop them from closing the gate. When I reach the gate all the passengers have seemingly boarded. The attending personel notifies the crew that the stragglers have finally showed up! We get on the plane, sweating (and as on multiple occasions refered to by my travel mates 'red in the face'). Joakims bag bursts open once more just as he enters the plane and his stuff flies out over a flight attendant. We get to our seats in the end of the plane and sit down, using the safety manuals as fans (That's about the only thing they're good for :P)

Whilst inspecting the safety manual I discover that onboard this plane you can not bring FERBIES. Out of all the things they ban Ferbies, it quickly became an internal joke and later I suggested we dress up as Ferbies just to see what they do. Seriously, imagine a giant f**cking Ferbie trying to board a Quantas flight when it clearly says that they're not allowed!

The flight I won't say so much about since it was pretty much always the same thing. Falling in and out of sleep, finding that you fel asleep on your travel mates shoulder or vice versa was common. The first part of the flight I watched 'The Boat that Rocked' and I found it was actually quite a good movie. It was refreshing to see Seymour Philip Hoffman in a role like this. The overall feel of the movie was good, just awesome british comedy associated with Rock 'n Roll. Linn didn't fare to well on the flight and had to go lie down and later a nice attendant allowed her to go into a secluded room to rest. I usually don't get sick in cars, airplanes or on boats which only makes me feel worse for the people that do. I felt incredibly helpless since there wasn't really anything I could do to make the flight better, I'm always happy to help but when I want to and I can't it just feels crappy, I feel like it's somehow my fault or something, but I digress.

We had a quick half hour stop in Bangkok and it worked pretty well for all of us there, I think Linn felt a bit better but I can't really know for sure. The first part of the flight to Sydney took roughly ten hours I think, everything is sort of hazy right now. The second part took eight hours and during that flight I slept. Joakim, Me, Rebecca and Linn watched Anastasia (Disneys interpretation) on the plane but both me and Linn fell asleep in the start of the movie. On the later parts of the flight we played some cards and slept some more.

Finally, Sydney! Here we parted with Sofia, Rasmus and the other guy who I just can't remember the name of! Damn my short memory span. From seven to four. We had four hours to spend on the airport before our plane to NZ would leave and we spent it chilling, eating, playing some cards and starting up a LAN Party next to the gate. When we first visisted the gate we found several other students carrying EF bags. During the flight we had all been conversing about an eight swede that was headed for New Zealand but none of us had seen her. Another girl called Linn homing from the sweet city of Gothemburg. We finally found her and she was creeped out to hear that we had loudly been conversing about her on the flight and she still hadn't heard anything eventhough she was sitting right in front of us.

MARCUS! MARCUS! I believe that was the name of the fourth guy, though.. I could be wrong..

We boarded the plane to Aukland and me and Joakim immedietly took a liking to the pilot who provided us with a view of Sydney (Check the pictures) but not only that, he switched of the seatbelt sign rather quickly. We flew over the ocean and clouds provided a spectacular show for us. The flight was a meagre three hours (dwarfed by the flight to Sydney it felt like nothing). Linn and Rebecca fell asleep rather quickly, Gothemburg Linn sat a row behind us and was pretty quiet. Joakim and me played HEROES THREE! Awesome game. We didn't get that far though before Lunch was served and by the time we had finished the food my computer was decharged. Shortly after we got ice cream served to us (Which made the pilot and his crew even more awesome!)

We speculated over whether or not we should wake up Linn with our ice cream like Joakim had threatened but we decided that we were way to nice to do something that cruel (Plus she looked to sweet when she was sleeping!)

When we got to Aukland the pilot provided us with an awesome view. Rebecca and I cited Lord of the Rings landscapes as we flew over the countryside of New Zealand. Our words were justified, we say Eriador! The Dead Marshes and on the Horizon Mordor! The green hills and farmlands of the Shire followed after. We got of the Airplane and met up with some EF people. They led us to another terminal and helped us check in our bags. Linn voiced our thoughts and said she was hungry. It was true, my stomach had been trying to strangle my brain since Bangkok. We found a McDonalds and got some food, on a sidenote: for forty extra cents you could get your soda turned into a slushie, which is awesome.

After the food and a conversation with the Danish EF student we went to the gate and sat down. We discussed the nausceous feeling we all felt and in we came to the conclusion that it was because we were all nervous. Joakim and Rebecca went of into the gate an hour before Linn and me and got onto their plane headed north. Linn and me started talking to a Canadian EF student we found sitting next to us and wrote a bit in the scrapbook provided by my brother. The time passed and we boarded the plane. It was quite a different plane than we had boarded before, propellers and whatnot! A strong wind blew at us as we boarded and it almost claimed my hat. Linn and I wondered how we would survived two hours on the plane to Nelson with the nausceous feeling but both of us actually fel asleep rather quickly. We arrived in Nelson after roughly two hours and apparently two minutes early. We were met by a myriad of people and amongst these stood my host mother along with Yanik (The German Exchange Student) and Linn's host parents.

Linn and I said goodbye quite quickly with a hug (Hugs are awesome by the way)

I found my bag and got into a car with my host mother Sascha, Yanik and his host mother. In my semi-concious state I could not provide such good conversation but we kept a little bit going.

It's 10:40 and I'm sitting semi councious in a car on my way to where I'll be staying. A friend of my host-mother is sitting in front of me humming to the radio which is playing a collection of music that seems to belong in the past. 'Sex Bomb! Sex Bomb! You're my sex bomb!' she sings and that's the final thing I recall before I fall asleep. I wake up and the car is pulling up next to a KFC where we get some food, great timing to because I hadn't eaten anything since Sydney. I got back in the car and we got back on the road.

Before long we arrived at our destination and after I had eaten I was showed around. I'll summarize this place with one word: AWESOME. I'm living in a room which is a few steps from the larger house, I've got my own bathroom to.

I can't think of anything else to tell you the reader right now but if I do I'll be sure to write it here so check back for the next update!

'Fallen Angels'

I'ts 3:31 and I've just closed the book 'Fallen Angels' after spending roughly a week reading it. I will say to you readers that the book is yet another success in the the Horus Heresy series, it provides the reader with a great story and it tells of how the events in the great betrayal transpired. Like the previous books it leaves me speechless and I want to remember it that way, there are not many books that renders me speechless unless they are truly epic or incredibly smart. I am a Warhammer enthusiast which may cause me to become very bias so don't consider this some sort of review or anything of it's ilk.

This won't be an awfully long blog either as it's just encircling my awe of this book and in general the Warhammer universe. Black Library (the publisher of all legitimate Warhammer literature) has really inspired me to write, I want to some day write a book like this myself. Perhaps it's just a teenagers stupid dream but I really like this universe, even if I can't bring myself to paint the miniatures I know quite a lot about lore in the Imperium and of the chaos entities. Most of you readers probably have no idea what I'm talking about so I'll round this off.

I've finished reading the book and to summarize my thoughts, I loved it.

Bellow you will see a picture of the books in the Horus Heresy series currently standing in my bookshelf, the hole in the collection is a book that I have currently lent to a friend.

A list of the books in correct order:

- #1: Horus Rising
- #2: False Gods
- #3: Galaxy in Flames
- #4: Flight of the Eisenstein
- #5: Fulgrim
- #6: Descent of Angels
- #7: Legion
- #8: Battle For The Abyss
- #9: Mechanicum
- #10: Tales of Heresy
- #11: Fallen Angels
- #12: A Thousand Son ( March 2010. )
- #13: Prospero Burns ( April 2010. )

Being the awesome person that I am I will provide you readers with the intraductory text provided in each of these books.

"It is a time of legend... Mighty heroes battle for the right to rule the galaxy. The vast armies of the Emperor of Earth have conquered the galaxy in a Great Crusade - the myriad alien races have been smashed by the Emperor's elite warriors and wiped from the face of history.

The dawn of a new age of supremacy for humanity beckons.
Gleaming citadels of marble and hold celebrate the many victories of the Emperor. Triumphs are raised on a million worlds to record the epic deeds of his most powerful and deadly warriors.

First and foremost amonst these are the primarchs, superheroic beings who have led the Emperor's armies of Space Marines in victory after victory. They are unstoppable and magnificent, the pinnacle of the Emperor's genetic emperimentation. The Space Marines are the mightiest human warriors the galaxy has ever known, each capable of besting a hundred normal men or more in combat.

Organised into vast armies of tens of thousand called Legions, the Space Marines and their primarch leaders conquer the galaxy in the name of the Emperor.

Chief amongst the primarchs is Horus, called the Glorious, the Brightest Star, favourite of the Emperor, and like a son unto him. He is the Warmaster, the commander-in-chief of the Emperor's military might, subjugator of a thousand thousand worlds and conqueror of the galaxy. He is a warrior without peer, a diplomatic supreme.

Horus is a star ascendant, but how much further can a star rise before it falls..?"

I myself believe the introduction is far more motivation you require to actually start reading the books and I can only hope you agree.

However, I should now traverse the five metres between my chair and my bed and fly away into my dreams of glory and empires.

Until next time dear readers
The Emperor Protects.

1:39..

I felt as if it was time to write something again. I've just gotten home from my friends place after a couple of hours of roleplaying, it was quite the experience considering it was my first time acting gamemaster but with some help and innovation I think it turned out pretty good. The trip back must've seriously been the longest subway trip ever, I think I waited a total of forty minutes just for the trains to arrive, I'm not complaining however, the extra time gave me an oppurtunity to continue reading 'Fallen Angels'. I'm currently on page 371/440 and I can tell you so far that it's a great book, probably within the top five out of the eleven books in the series featuring one of my favourite legions: The Dark Angels

I won't fill this blog up with spoilers or long quotes about the book since that would firstly spoil it for you (though I doubt any of the people actually reading this blog will ever read the Horus Heresy series) so don't get your hopes up or down or whichever way they normally traverse.

To get back on the topic that this blog was intended for, I got the tickets for the trip two days ago and now it feels more real than ever. I've got a slim three days before the big day and it's going to be pretty chaotic not even taking in to account that all my clothes are unwashed. Another thing is the huge mass of friend you have to properly say goodbye and spend some final hours with before you go and that's what I've been doing these last three days. Friday I went with two pals and had dinner and then watched a movie, saturday I went with eight other pals to an internet café, sunday I slept till 18:00 and then went of to another friends place and took part in roleplay as I above stated. I wonder how many more things I'll do before I go.

On my birthday a couple of months back I got a New Zealand tourist guide and when I got home I decided to check up Collingwood (Which is where I'll be staying) and Nelson (which is the closest 'big' town) why I hadn't done this before is beyond me. It turns out that my fathers aquaintaince was correct. Collingwood is referred to as a place that houses a lot of artists and performers that strive to be innovative, creative and keep everything 'eco' or more bluntly put the town is 'Arty-farty'

On a sidenote, a roleplaying game that I've been contemplating on purchasing is Warhammer 40.000: Dark Heresy. It's a pen and paper and dice roleplay (Gee isn't that original) with one important exception. It takes place in the far future of the 41st millenia, the same location in time as my beloved Space Marine chapters that I read so often about. I might buy a couple of the books so I can get a better hold of the roleplaying game and it's rules when I'm gone but this I'm not quite sure yet, the fantasy roleplaying game is incredibly gruff and that's what makes it fun, I can only hope that the future one has the same feel to it.

I should go to bed now, getting my time rythm back is crucial I have been told but I fail to see the point. Why should I normalize my time grasp when I'm going to place where it's twelve hour time difference.

Anyway, to whomever is reading this, I bid you goodnight.

Emperor be with you.

Testing...

Testing..
One Two, One Two...

This is just a premature attempt to blog. I've never actually blogged before which will explain the lack of awesomness of this post. Since you probably just found your way to my blog I owe you an explanation.

If you don't know exactly who I am I'll lay it down for you in a couple of lines. My name is Axel and earlier this year (2009) I signed up for an exchange student program with EF. This is a blogg that I've created partly because relatives, friends and family will probably want (demand) updates and this way I can easily provide them all with the information required but also partly because I enjoy writing in all it's forms.

In this blog you can read about me and probably about almost everything I'll do. I plan on keeping the updates going at least every third day but not only that ladies and gentlemen, your humble host will not let you down with only boring text, bad grammar and occasional spelling misstakes!

I will on a regular basis upload pictures accopanied by the occasional video, yes folks you heard me, VIDEOS! And all this for only 9.99$ Order now and get a free extra blogg! Did I say 9.99$? I am of course providing this blog for free! My supervisor will kill me for it but I am prepared to take that bullet for YOU, the reader!

Order now and we will save a panda in the wild. If you don't we'll kill one.
